Dale & Debbie Part 48 - Wyoming

Heading to Casper, Wyoming

We explored Casper about 5 years ago so this quick stop was just to break up a long stretch of mileage and stock up on groceries. We stayed at the same campground along the North Platte River and ate at a restaurant that we liked on our first visit. This kind of stop is easy as there’s no research involved. ;)
Our next stop was in Sundance. The State Bank of the same name was built in 1914.
From there we visited the magnificent Spearfish Canyon.
We encountered nickel size hail on our return hike from this fall!
Dale hiked at Devil’s Tower a couple of times while we were in the area. We explored it about 8 years ago so it didn’t bother me to miss out this time. I was still suffering with kidney stone pain on and off. Sundance has a small 16-bed county hospital, which is where I had a CT scan. It showed a few kidney stones, one of which was too large to pass. So I was advised to find a urologist ~ none in or near Sundance though.

Here are some different perspectives of this massive rock, technically known as a butte.

It’s a popular place for climbers.

We'll leave you with a few nature shots before we head on to North Dakota.
Next up...North Dakota!
