5 Quick Tips for Successful Camping
As you prepare for the camping months to come, it’s
important to ensure that you’ve properly prepared for a trip. If you haven’t
already, review our Airstream & RV Travel Essentials blog. In this blog, we
share with you some other camping tips to help make the most of your camping
experience.
1.) Make sure that you’ve made any reservations that may be needed on your
trip. Nothing is worse than arriving at the perfect campsite and having no
available space. Depending on the popularity of the site you may consider
making reservations anywhere from 3 months to 1 year in advance.
2.) Measure your Airstream or RV height to avoid driving through low building
canopies or other hard to maneuver paths.
3.) Be conservative. Practice using resources sparingly, such as, filling the
sink to do dishes and turning off your water heater/furnace when not in use.
You may also want to consider installing solar panels to keep your RV batteries
charged. It may also help to invest in a surge protector.
4.) Keep yourself protected from nature. Make sure that you’re familiar with
the different types of poison plants that may be around your campsite such as
poison ivy. Also, be sure to bring along tick & mosquito deterrents such as
tree oil and sage.
5.) Be overprepared. Having a few more resources than needed when camping is
never a bad idea. Extra items such as trail marking tape, coolers, toiletries and
linens could come in handy when you least expect it, but need it most.
